Monday, May 15th, 2017

Friday, July 7th, 2017 in the Keystone Grand Ballroom

WILKES-BARRE, PA (May 15, 2017) – Chicago native performer, songwriter and producer, Richard Marx, will be bringing his pop – rock hits to stage at the Keystone Grand Ballroom on Friday, July 7th, 2017 at 8:00pm. Marx has achieved countless highlights over his three decade long career, selling more than 30 million albums worldwide and producing four top five singles, including “Hold on to the Nights”, and “Don’t Mean Nothing”.

Tickets start at $29.00 and will go on sale on Friday, May 19th through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may purchase tickets by logging on to ticketmaster.com or calling Ticketmaster’s national toll free Charge By Phone number at 1.800.745.3000. Tickets will also be available for purchase, free of service fees, at the Mohegan Sun Pocono Box Office.

Marx’s second career highlight occurred when Repeat Offender hit #1 and went quadruple – platinum.  After, the Rush Street album brought two #1 hits and the Paid Vacation album had a #1 hit going platinum, triumphing Marx’s seven year sequence of top hits.   Marx didn’t stop there; he became a songwriter and producer obtaining fourteen #1 singles, written chart hits for artists such as N’SYNC, Keith Urban, Josh Groban and more, and ranked on Billboard’s “Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Artists”.

Releasing his eighth album, Beautiful Goodbye in 2014, Marx exposed all new material fans found unique compared to past albums.  He deliberately set out to create a stimulating album, “The songs on this record were influenced greatly by everyone from Sade to Bebel Gilberto to various EDM artists to even Chopin. I’m known for romantic music in the past, but this music I wrote is all more sensual and ethereal, and the lyrics are more adventurous than I’ve been willing to go in the past” states Marx.

As Marx’s career began, he immediately became involved with many charitable organizations throughout his career.  He has performed benefit concerts for organizations including Children of the Night, TJ Martell Foundation, Toys for Tots, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Best Buddies and the Special Olympics.  In 1987 he donated the royalties from his hit single “Should’ve Known Better” to build a room at the NYU Medical Center for pediatric cancer patients.  Marx’s hosts an annual all-star benefit concert for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, raising more than $4 million for research to cure the disease.

New Property Enhancements At Mohegan Sun Pocono

Thursday, March 30th, 2017

WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 30, 2017) – Since the opening of Mohegan Sun Pocono in 2006, Mohegan Sun Pocono has grown into one of the biggest gaming and entertainment attractions in the region. This spring, MSP will be keeping the momentum going with new enhancements to the property including a redesign of the gaming floor, a remodel to Timbers Buffet and the addition of over 250 new slot machines and table games – such as the popular Fusion Hybrid games.

Mohegan Sun Pocono is currently home to a world-class gaming space including 91 live table games, 2,300 slot machines and electronic table games, retail shops, restaurant and bars and the best live entertainment inside the Keystone Grand Ballroom and Wise Crackers Comedy. The new gaming floor design will provide guests with comfort and the convenience of easily navigating throughout the casino – slot banks are smaller with sleeker bases, aisles are wider and card readers as well as iView software have been upgraded. Plus, new carpet and Ultra-comfortable seats that allow free movement have been installed.

Blooming with new slot machines and table games, the beautiful gaming floor at Mohegan Sun Pocono most recently features the latest technology of Fusion Hybrid games. Guests may wager electronically on four different roulette wheels simultaneously, all at a $2.00 minimum bet. Each of the four roulette wheels are manned by an actual dealer who spins the ball. In the near future, the property will be adding $5.00 Minimum Bet Blackjack to the Electronic Table Game offerings. You can find these new games next to Timbers Buffet, as well as in the non-smoking Table Games section. Additionally, there are currently 100 new slot machines – bringing a total of 250 new slot machines by the end of the year.

Making improvements to Timbers Buffet, the experience and offerings will be upgraded and modernized for guests. There will be expanded Asian and Mexican stations, new pizza station offerings, additional brunch selections and an enhanced weekend night menu. The improved experience is rounded out with a renovated entrance, updated dessert station, a new carving station and increased heating elements for quality food – keeping buffet selections warmer longer.
